Houndmouth at the Green House

Michael Jones and I met the new band Houndmouth at drummer Shane Cody’s New Albany, Ind., home, which they’ve called the “Green House,” at the end of a practice to interview them for the Louisville Music story in the September issue of The highlander, and heard four unreleased Houndmouth songs on WFPK. (Michael can be seen in the background of one of the photos.) I had to shoot furiously while it lasted, while also enjoying the moment. Their session was precious with stops and starts and mistakes and laughs. When Katie asked if they should do another one, I didn’t say no!

Houndmouth is bassist Zak Appleby, guitarist Matt Myers, keyboardist Katie Toupin and drummer Shane Cody. Much luck to them on their upcoming tour, and with their newly released self-titled EP with Rough Trade Records.
