Stray Cat Blues Band at Vernon Club
on Club after shooting there for an upcoming Highlander story and wanted me to photograph them with a Blackberry. I handed it back and told them I’d make a picture with a real camera! Now if you’re in this picture and/or interested in a copy, click on the photo and you’ll be able to buy a print or digital download.
Papa John’s – Website Relaunch
John Schnatter, founder of Papa John’s, gets a hand from his 12 year-old son, Beau, in placing his first-ever online order to help mark the rollout of the company’s revamped website. Papa John’s was the first pizza company to introduce online ordering in 2001 at www.papajohns.com and the brand has since transacted more than $2 billion in online sales. Schnatter

Dan Yager
Saw Dan Yager, legendary scoutmaster, while he and Marlene visited their son Rick’s place in Waddy. Dan was down at the lake fishing with his grandsons Luke and Caleb, with Rick and Steve Becker and his son John hanging out.
Derby 2010
I found my photo used in a gallery of Derby photos on Boston.com’s Big Shots: May 4, 2010 2010 Kentucky Derby Mint juleps and mud marked the 136th running of the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs. A wet weekend in Louisville didn’t stop the Derby hats from coming out, and it didn’t stop Super Saver either. Jockey Calvin Borel again
One For Dad
Jimmy Ballinger, right, asked me to photograph him with his father, David Ballinger, and his black ’62 Corvette convertible to illustrate this sweet story he submitted to Corvette Forum: Click here to see the gallery of photos! One for Dad I had purchased a 65 convertible after wanting one since I was a teenager. A couple of years later I
Ducks and Canada geese have the right of way
Out shooting last minute illustrations for The Highlander with MJ in Cave Hill Cemetery and found a Canada goose poking its head out of the Zoysia grass on the bank of the lake.
The famed walking cars and wildflowers of Cherokee Park
Coming in the May issue of The Highlander a Wood Poppy I shot while we were out walking… And what’s up with these guys walking toy cars on the walkway in Cherokee Park?
Past Graduations
A recollection of past graduations as I send off a quote to shoot one at a very cool school… This is from my 1999 portfolio, titled Salem Graduate, 1999. That’s all I know right off, without digging through boxes of film for a caption sheet from way back then when I was doing these for The Courier–Journal Neighborhoods section, or
Boys’ Life
I attended a recent meeting of the the Boy Scouts of Troop 4, based at St. Agnes church on Newburg Road for The Highlander. I was awash in nostalgia… Being an Eagle scout myself, it brought back memories of meetings of Troop 69 at Kenwood Baptist Church, learning outdoorsmanship from Dan Yager and throwing Frisbee with Rik Downs. We had
The wedding of Laura & Bob
Laura and Bob had a beautiful wedding and then left for dinner at Z’s Fusion and a night at The Brown. But along the way, we made some portraits on the Belvedere. They were a lovely couple to work with, a pleasure! See a gallery of photos: Laura & Bob – To Share
Hooley in The Highlands
Many thanks to the Hibernians for throwing a beautiful St. Patrick’s Day Parade! This was a favorite photo – Theresa Henken was dressed as a bearded St. Patrick and giving blessing cards to parade watchers along the way. She’d get behind and then have to run to catch up with her float! I followed her through the end at Mid-City

Brian has covered all seven years of our annual Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Awards. I also asked him to document what took place at the Ali Center in the days following Muhammad’s passing. I trust Brian for the big projects. He is easy to work with and always delivers.

Brian was my primary photographer for about 5 years at Prep Magazine. The quality of all his photos was first rate and he collaborated very well with other contributors to the publication. Brian became an excellent food photographer during our time working together, which is an acquired specialty. I would highly recommend Brian Bohannon for any photography work.

Brian was great to work with. He was professional, exceptionally prepared, attentive to our needs, unobtrusive to our guests, and his photos are fabulous!

As the editor of a monthly publication, I worked with Brian for over 7 years on countless assignments. He goes above and beyond to get the perfect photo, whether shooting on deadline for publication, capturing the highlights at a corporate event or posing a senior for a casual portrait. Brian is an excellent photojournalist, is great with people, and is prompt and reliable to a fault. Hire him.

Brian was professional, prompt and wonderful at answering questions. He turned in great photos that we will be using in both our print and online publications. Great experience!

As a performer, I need my head shots updated fairly regularly. Brian has done two excellent shoots for me, is very pleasant to work with, and I'd recommend him for any photo job.

Brian captured my grandson’s Muhammad Ali themed birthday party at The Ali Center! He was punctual, fun to work with and willing to take pics at an additional location! We received the digitals in less than 72 hours and very reasonably priced!

I needed some head shots on a tight deadline. Mr. Bohannon was able to accommodate me on short notice. He was very professional and detail oriented. He also gave me plenty of photo options.
