Rye Lunch & Conversation

A rye-inspired lunch and discussion at RYE on Market in Louisville.

The flavor of Rye

American Farmland Trust presents agronomy and rye flavor results from the 2019 harvest, distillation and planting with their farmer network during a rye-inspried lunch and conversation Friday, Jan. 31, 2020 at Rye on Market in Louisville, Ky.

The agenda included signature cocktails and a rye-inspired lunch menu hosted by American Farmland Trust.

Chris Morris and Elizabeth McCall from Woodford Reserve presented a tasting and talk on the distillation flavor reseach progress on three rye varieties, followed by Dr. Dave Van Sanford of UK discussing the full catalog of rye varieties.

After a break, they conducted a Farm and field rye discussion – a time for learning and sharing with Dr. Chad Lee.

Special thanks to Barbara Hurt, executive director of Dendrifund, who asked me to photograph the occasion!
